iglidur® tribotape® B160
The tribotape® liner from igus® is suitable for lining a wide variety of surfaces and shapes subject to tribological stress, for optimising transport tasks, for machine beds, etc. With a thickness of only 0.5 - 1mm (including adhesive tape + 0.21mm), it requires very little space. The ease of processing - it can be cut to size with scissors - and the optional self-adhesive tape make it suitable for almost unlimited applications.
The iglidur® tribotape® liner is also available with self-adhesive tape for quick and easy installation.
Especially where the iglidur® tribotape® is a visible part, the black version now offers even more design freedom. In addition, the wear resistance has been further improved compared to the version made of iglidur® A160.
Limits of bonding with adhesive tapes
The adhesive strength of the adhesive tape with which this tribotape® is equipped is limited. Unlike structural bonding, a wide variety of environmental influences can affect the adhesive system and lead to the substrates detaching.
High-strength, durable adhesive bonds can generally only be achieved using chemically reactive one- and two-component adhesives. In these cases, adhesives, substrates and the pre-treatment of the substrates must be precisely matched to one another. The variety of possible combinations does not allow us to make specifications or recommendations here.
We expressly point out that the adhesive tape of the igus® tribotape® can only facilitate the assembly and fixing of the tape. Experience has shown that the adhesive strength of the tape decreases over time. igus assumes no liability for an adequate adhesive system based on the adhesive tape.
