Corrosion-free bearings achieve over 10 years service life in manure spreader

In this boundary spreader, heavy-duty igubal bearings guarantee failure-free operation.

The AXIS 50.1 W fertilizer spreader is strictly trimmed for performance.

Never turn off again and yet always dose with the highest precision - with the AXIS 50.1 W these requirements can be put into practice.
The igubal® clevis joints made of plastic are combined with a KMF hydraulic cylinder in the distribution device here. A dynamic test over 2 times 100h at -20°C and a block load of 4,000 N reflects a service life of over 10 years. This is underlined by the vibration dampening properties and the high loading capacity of the clevis joints.

The benefits of igubal® spherical bearings used in agricultural machinery are:

Corrosion-free

cost-effective compared to VA parts

Profile

  • What was needed: igubal clevis joints
  • Requirements: Corrosion-free as well as heavy-duty bearing components were needed that would function continuously even in cold temperatures.
  • Industry: Agriculture
  • Success for the customer: The igubal bearings were simultaneously put to the test twice over a period of 100 hours each at - 20 °C and under the influence of a block load of 4,000 N. This corresponds to a service life of 10 years. The vibration-dampening specifications as well as the high load capacity and corrosion resistance of the clevis joints contribute to this. They are also a cost-effective alternative to steel bearings.

Boundary spreading device in fertiliser spreader

Problem

The fertiliser spreaders from RAUCH Landmaschinenfabrik GmbH, such as the model AXIS 50.1 W in this case, dose with the highest precision when spreading fertiliser evenly on the field. Here, all components used in the fertiliser spreader must be corrosion-free and designed for the high content of ammonia in the fertiliser. This is also the case in the boundary spreading device, which limits the spreading area of the fertiliser to enable more targeted and efficient spreading. Here, clevis joints are used in combination with a KMF hydraulic cylinder, which must be able to permanently withstand the adverse conditions.

Solution

The components used as bearings in the fertiliser spreader today are igubal clevis joints made of plastic. They are combined with a KMF hydraulic cylinder in the boundary spreading device. The high demands placed on the solution in fertiliser technology are demonstrated by the dynamic test that the new system had to undergo. The boundary spreading device was thus put to the test twice simultaneously, each time for a period of 100 hours at - 20°C and under the influence of a block load of 4,000 N. These simulated test conditions correspond to the loads that the system would encounter in practical use within 10 years. The long service life can be explained in part by the vibration-dampening specifications as well as the high load capacity and corrosion resistance of the clevis joints. They are also a cost-effective alternative to steel bearings.
