With iglidur G2, iglidur plain bearings reach a new level of precision. The particularly low moisture absorption and thermal expansion combined with high dimensional stability enable very low bearing clearance (G9). Ideal for applications where very quiet operation is required.
Improved haptics due to tight bearing clearance
Up to 40% more cost-effective than comparable metal bearings
Approx. 40% less clearance compared to iglidur G (G9 vs. E10)
The lubrication-free dry operation helps to save lubrication
igus supports the circular economy of plastics and invests in chemical recycling. Find out more.

Bearing clearance is an important factor in many plain bearing applications. Particularly in end-user products with moving parts such as bicycles or household appliances, but also toys and even machines, excessive bearing clearance manifests itself in the form of rattling and noise. These haptics play a major role in whether an appliance has a "high-quality" appearance or not. At the same time, a low bearing clearance also increases the quiet operation of plain bearing applications.
Reason enough, therefore, to strive for the lowest possible bearing clearance. A certain bearing clearance is not only necessary for reasons of process-reliable manufacturability, for example to compensate for manufacturing tolerances. It also compensates for the expansion of the materials used due to heat or moisture. Materials expand or contract to varying degrees under the influence of temperature. At the same time, certain materials also absorb significant amounts of moisture – e.g. from air humidity
