Bearings and energy chains for commercial vehicles

Heavy loads, dirt, heat, low temperatures and humidity: Commercial vehicles and lorries have a rough working day. No tradesperson can afford downtime, and usually the tight schedules do not allow time for maintenance. Energy chains, plain bearings and linear guides made of iglidur plastics help you increase reliability in and around the vehicle at many fault-prone places. The products are characterised by a high level of robustness, predictable operating times and the fact that they do not require lubrication. No lubricants also means no dirt contained in the grease that limits mobility.

PFAS in focus: planned restrictions, challenges and solutions for the industry

What exactly are PFAS, why are they so popular in the consumer sector and in industry, especially in the automotive sector? Why is there a threat of an EU-wide ban and what can companies do now?
The white paper sheds light on these questions and shows how igus, as a plastics processor, is responding to the planned restriction at an early stage and can offer its customers PTFE-free and PFAS-tested alternatives.

Vehicle wheel with a dusty tyre sidewall on a utility vehicle.

Extra-strong plain bearings in swing axles for semi-trailers

Lubrication saved, production and maintenance costs reduced: Demarko was looking for durable plain bearings and thrust washers for the swing axles on its heavy-duty semi-trailers, with which maintenance costs could be reduced to a minimum. The solution: igus bearings made of the materials iglidur G and igutex TX1.

Truck with a tail lift and open side compartments for technical equipment.

Bearing points on tail lifts without rust and maintenance

MBB Palfinger relies on iglidur Q290 bearings in the twelve bearing points of the hoists for its tail lifts for ambulances. The corrosion-resistant, durable material significantly reduces the risk of failure of the tail lifts. Poor lubrication and corrosion were a problem with the previously used metal bearings.

Testedin the laboratory

iglidur plain bearings, drylin linear technology and igubal coupling joints are tested for real use in the largest plastics test laboratory in the industry. The focus is on testing assemblies and examining the tribological properties of different material combinations. The results are integrated into our online service life calculation tools and enable precise durability predictions.

igus also performs customer tests on request to check the use of the products under specific conditions.
