reguse® is the apprentice project of igus® SE & Co. KG in Cologne, Germany, and was founded in 2019. The team is made up of trainees from various areas. Each person takes on their own tasks and contributes to the joint success.
The commercial apprentices are responsible for legal, financial and marketing issues. They process orders, prepare invoices and monitor and document payment receipts. They also plan sales campaigns and coordinate donations to various organisations.
They are supported by our dual students who have been part of reguse® since the beginning of 2022. Our IT specialists for system integration take care of the maintenance of IT systems and ensure that the systems behind our services run reliably. Application development IT specialists are responsible for further development of individual services, including the website. These include programming and optimising the website.

During the coronavirus pandemic, when most lessons throughout Germany took place digitally, we donated ten notebooks to the BKAL vocational college at Lindenstrasse. The devices were distributed specifically to students in support classes to enable them to better participate in online classes.
We donated several complete hardware solutions to Hoffnungswerk e.V., a non-profit organisation that has been working for sustainable reconstruction in the Ahr valley since the floods in summer 2021 and supports those affected through social services and trauma management, among other things.
In the middle of the year, we donated an igus ReBeL arm, thereby supporting innovative technological approaches in education and application at Tech and Teach GmbH. The provision of this robotics solution creates new learning and application opportunities and promotes access to future-oriented technology.

Following on from our previous support, we once again got involved in the Ahr valley, as together with Hoffnungswerk e.V. we supplied a 3D printer including igus filaments and five laptops in order to continue to promote work on site and create new possibilities.
This year, we were able to donate €5,000 to Notpfote Animal Rescue e.V. and thus support their work for animals in need. Such organisations rely heavily on voluntary work and make an important contribution to animal protection.
We were also able to donate another €5,000 to the Dellbrück animal shelter in 2026. Facilities such as this one play an important role in animal welfare, especially when it comes to the care, accommodation and placement of animals.

As a result of our successful financial year 2025, we donated a total of €10,000 to the Quaker Community Centre in 2026. The institution is fully dedicated to social cohesion in Cologne, creating spaces where people of all generations can meet and interact.

In 2026, we supported the association Coach e.V. with a donation of laptops. The Cologne initiative has been advocating for educational equality and equal opportunities for more than 20 years, supporting people with a migration background on their path to a professional and personal future.
In June, we donated two laptops and two iPads to the Mosaik special needs school in Langenfeld. The school’s studio offers a space where children can find an outlet for artistic expression. The donated devices are intended to help them collect ideas and implement them individually.
Five tonnes. That's how much electronic waste igus produces every year. Many of those devices are still functional. But they are all at least four years old, so they are discarded. Isn't there somewhere for them to be used?
That is the question IT trainees posed at the end of 2019. Since then, all IT and business trainees have been working on a concept to prevent devices from becoming electronic waste. The idea, paired with the motto "reduce, reuse, recycle" and combined with the igus affiliation, results in reguse.
