Harnessed Drive Cliq cables

Another highlight of this technology is Power over Ethernet (PoE). This enables the network client to be powered via the Ethernet cable. Devices with low power consumption such as VoIP telephones or network cameras can be operated with a single cable thanks to PoE - there is no need for a separate power supply. This saves costs and reduces installation effort. The Y-Con Cover 40 was replaced in 2022 by the Y-Con 40 PP, which is 100% backwards compatible with the old Y-Con Cover 40.

Another special feature of this data cable harnessed with the Yamaichi Y-Con 40 PP is that the RJ45 specification also includes two additional, fully integrated contacts for the power supply. This means that the industrial plug-in connector for Industrial Ethernet, Profinet and field bus can reliably transmit up to 3.1A without an additional power supply.

Behind the pre-assembled Drive Cliq cable is a measuring system cable that is usually easy to recognise on every drive unit thanks to its bright green colour. This colour originates from DESINA and is now also established outside of the machine tool. It is used for signal feedback from the encoder system to the frequency inverter and is sometimes called the tacho cable or encoder cable. It contains many data wires for signal transmission. The various signals generated by the encoder represent the exact movement of the motor and are transmitted with it. As a rule, however, the cable not only transports the data of the encoder system, but also realises the power supply of the encoder in the case of Drive Cliq.
