Precise fine adjustment of cameras with linear bearings in conveyor technology

The company Sasyaka Engineering has built an image processing system for a customer that is used as part of a conveyor application in the medical packaging sector. The packaging machine can thus visually inspect the products using high-resolution cameras and an inspection system.
The manufacturer looked for suitable storage components in two different places. Firstly, they were looking for a storage solution in the conveyor system, which is designed to transport the pallets onwards and perform a complex 180° rotation. 
In addition, the lighting and cameras used in the image processing system were also to be equipped with storage positions for flexible positioning. The challenge here was the high level of precision required, as even a clearance of 0.5 mm would have a major effect on the function of the system.
As this is a system for packaging pharmaceutical products, no lubricants or corrosive materials were allowed to be used in the bearing points.

Today, drylin® and iglidur®-bearing are used in the conveyor system. For the conveyor system, the machine manufacturer opted for the drylin® N flat guide  rail on which the pallets are transported fluidly, smoothly and completely lubrication-free on a drylin® N linear slide.
The camera and lighting system is also completely lubrication-free. This is guaranteed by drylin® products, or more precisely, several drylin ® SLW linear units with spindle drive  enable smooth and fine adjustment at six different stations along the conveyor belt.
